In Belgrade, from 8 to 10 October 2025, within the project "EU Support for Public Finance Management," a series of training courses for obtaining a certificate of public procurement officer was continued. This training, like the previous one in April, was organised with the participation of lecturers from the Public Procurement Office as experienced experts in law and public procurement practice. With the project's support, over 2,300 participants have completed these courses this year and the previous year.
The October training cycle covered key topics related to the legislative and institutional frameworks, types of procedures, and special procurement regimes, along with legal protection. Special focus was on practical exercises on the Public Procurement Portal, where participants completed all necessary steps - from creating and publishing the public procurement plan, to preparing tender documentation, and finally opening and evaluating bids.
All of these allowed participants to become familiar with the best practices and practical tools that will help them conduct public procurement procedures more efficiently and transparently. Additionally, through exam simulation and knowledge testing, they had the opportunity to understand the requirements of the upcoming exam and to test their knowledge in practice.
For those considering a career in public procurement, this training has proven to be a crucial step towards professional development. It plays a significant role in the comprehensive process of professionalising the public procurement system and enhancing the capacity of public sector employees—both vital for the efficient and responsible use of public funds.
The three-day webinar is organised within the project "EU Support for Public Finance Management in Serbia," which is funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in partnership with the Centre of Excellence in Finance (CEF) and the Ministry of Finance of Slovakia.
